Head Outside And Enjoy The Bird’s Eye View

Now we’re edging into February, the excuses to get outside and appreciate nature are becoming easier. As we shake off the last dregs of winter weather, the RSPB presents schools with an educational and innovative way to encourage children to take an interest in nature, birds in particular.

The Big Schools’ Birdwatch has been running since 3rd January, and will end on the 17th February, so there is still time to get involved. The RSPB’s website is packed with resources including survey sheets, activities and creative ideas, and games and stories. The idea of the annual event is that it takes just one hour to engage pupils in an informative and interesting lesson that is focused on the plentiful birdlife that the UK has to offer.
