There are so many revered teachers across the globe, it’s perhaps not surprising that there’s a World Teachers’ Day to celebrate all that they do and inspire. We’re doubtlessly biased, but, having worked alongside some phenomenal and passionate teachers, we are more than happy to shout about their impact, hard work, and encourage others to do the same. This year’s theme is ‘Valuing Teachers, Improving Their Status‘. At the theme’s heart is the principle of supporting teachers across the globe, as they are pivotal figures in the notion that every child has a right to an education. It’s also about motivating and empowering teachers – a sentiment we wholeheartedly support.
We could say so much about the teachers that have made an impact on our lives, and those that continue to shape the minds of the future, but we don’t think we could word it better than some of the wonderful poetry we’ve seen about teachers. So on #WorldTeachersDay, we simply share this wonderful poem by Joanna Fuchs, and ask that you pass it on to a teacher you know.

We’d also love to hear from you if you’ve been dabbling in some poetry about teachers (whether you’re a teacher yourself or not!).
