Student planners for every phase of school life
A student planner shapes how students organise work, follow routines, reflect on progress and communicate with home. When designed as part of a school system rather than as a standalone diary, it supports behaviour, reduces workload and gets used consistently throughout the year.
A planner that works in a primary classroom will not work in a secondary timetable. The structure, tone and purpose shift depending on phase.
Build routines and parent communication. Visual, structured layouts that reinforce early habits.
Support independence and subject timetables. Designed for homework accountability and growing autonomy.
Provide clarity and consistency. Accessible page design tailored to support needs.
Align systems across multiple schools. Shared structure with school-level flexibility.
Most planners in the UK are still built using systems designed for print efficiency, not school use.
Pages are forced into a structure that doesn’t match how students use them.
Content is padded or cut to fit the press, not the school year.
Important pages end up in the wrong place or the wrong sequence.
Schools adjust their expectations instead of the planner adjusting to them.
Both options produce the same fully custom planner. The difference is how hands-on you want to be.
Our simple process makes it easy to create planners that build good study habits, keep students organised, and support progress all year.
Share a few details about your school and students to kick things off.
Pick our fully managed design service or self-serve tools for full control.
Include study pages, goals, and communication notes and more.
Once approved, we’ll print, bind, and ship your planners directly to your school.
A small number of examples showing how page-by-page planner design works in practice.
Feversham Primary Academy serves the BD3 area of Bradford. A traditional planner no longer met the academic or pastoral needs of pupils across the school.
The existing student planners no longer supported academic priorities.
The school replaced the planner with a bespoke Student Toolkit.
Based on inspection outcomes, pupil engagement and staff feedback following the introduction of the bespoke Student Toolkit.
Kingsmead School is a rural secondary school with around 900 students aged 11 to 16. As curriculum demands changed, the school needed a faster, simpler way to design and adapt its planner.
The previous planner model was slow, complex and difficult to adapt.
The school adopted SPC Xpress to simplify and accelerate production.

Everything is compatible with the procedures and processes within our school to enable maximum learning.
They are easy to use and to understand. Student planners give teachers the ability to contact parents, the students the opportunity to keep on top of work and parents the chance to see what their kids are doing.
Our student planners contain key dates, information and policies. They allow communication between home and school and enable staff and students to stay organised.
Student planners offer a great way of communicating with parents and for parents to communicate with the school.
Our planners aid communication and provide parents with information and ways they can help their children.
Our planners give our parents much needed information about our students’ days (a lot of our students are non-verbal and have autism).
My pupils benefit from useful help pages and also reading records to record reading assessment.
We recently ordered 300 custom Livingstone Primary planners for our KS2 children from SPC Xpress and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The process was straightforward and flexible. The planners were excellent value for money, and communication throughout was outstanding
The key content is the space available for home to use to let us know how the pupil’s night has gone so we can be aware of this when addressing their needs.
They are used every day to support teaching and learning as well as communication between home and school.
We can order different colours for our visually impaired students and also A4 sizes for those SEND students who need them.
They support our school ethos and bring the learning experiences together for all.
As a special school we have been able to tailor the planner to our needs which is crucial for home communication and sharing appropriate targets amongst the curriculum and pastoral areas.
